UPCOMING YIN WORKSHOP

13th June 1130am – 1pm

Namaste Yoga Studio

Enjoy a combination of Yin Yoga and auricular acupuncture, followed by Yoga Nidra to close the session. Together each modality facilitates an even deeper practice of relaxation, recovery and reset.

What makes this combination so powerful?

Yoga and acupuncture complement each other well because they both aim to restore balance and harmony within the body, mind, and energy systems.

Here’s why they work so well together

1. Flow of Energy (Prana and Qi):

Whether you frame the energetic systems in the body as Prana or Qi, both Yoga and acupuncture work with the flow of energy in the body.

Yoga focuses on the flow of prana (life energy) through the body, promoting balance through breath-work (pranayama), poses (asanas), and meditation.

Acupuncture works on the flow of qi (a similar concept to prana) along meridians or energy pathways. By stimulating specific points, acupuncture helps clear blockages and promote the smooth flow of qi.

2. Stress reduction

Modern lifestyles are highly demanding and many of us live in high-pressure, fast-paced environments. To reduce stress often requires making a conscious effort to find practices that encourage stress reduction.

Both modalities are effective in reducing stress and promoting relaxation. Yoga calms the nervous system through mindful movement and breath, while acupuncture releases tension and balances the body’s stress response.

3. Holistic Healing

Yoga and acupuncture both take a holistic approach to health, addressing not just physical symptoms but also emotional and mental well-being. They encourage the body’s natural healing processes by restoring internal balance.

4. Enhancing the effect of each modality

After an acupuncture session, yoga can help maintain the openness and flow of energy created by the needles.

Similarly, acupuncture can enhance the effects of yoga by addressing specific imbalances, allowing for deeper, more effective practice.

5. Pain relief

Independently, yoga and acupuncture are effective in managing and relieving chronic pain. Yoga helps by improving flexibility, strength, and posture, while acupuncture can directly target areas of pain and promote the release of endorphins.

Together, yoga and acupuncture create a powerful synergy, addressing both the physical and energetic aspects of well-being, making them a popular combination for those seeking holistic health practices.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Expect a deeply restorative, inward-focused experience that blends the stillness of Yin Yoga with the subtle therapeutic effects of auricular acupuncture. The session begins with long-held, floor-based Yin poses designed to gently open the fascia, regulate the nervous system, and invite introspection. During this grounded state, fine auricular needles are applied to specific ear points to support relaxation, stress relief, and energetic balance. Enhancing the body’s natural capacity to reset and heal.

We then transition into Yoga Nidra, a guided meditative practice that leads you into a state between waking and sleep. Here, the body rests completely while awareness remains gently alert, allowing for profound mental, emotional, and physical restoration.

This combination creates a layered, integrative journey that is ideal for those seeking to unwind deeply, recalibrate, and reconnect with a quieter internal rhythm.

(Ear seeds available as an alternative to needles on request)
