DESCRIPTION:Upcoming Fundamentals in Traditional Chinese Medicine applied to Yin Yoga\, 20hr or 6 part module. \nJoin per module or for the full 20hr course. \nThis modular 20hr workshop is ideal for existing Yin yoga teachers or Yoga therapists. Even if you simply have an interest in Traditional Chinese Medicine\, this course is an ideal starting point. \nSign up for all 6 modules\, or pick and choose those that most interest you. (Please keep in mind that each module is interrelated and topics start from more basic and move to more advanced.) \nModules covered: \n1. Applied principles of Yin and Yang to the practice of Yoga\n2. Comparing the Five Elements to the Ayurvedic principles of the Doshas\n3. The Three treasures : Jing\, Qi\, Shen\n4. Introducing Yang to your Yin teaching\n5. The Shen of the five elements as class themes\n6. Acupressure and Adjustments during Yin Yoga \nEach module will include theoretical and practical applications that you can integrate immediately into your current teaching or self practice. You will receive access to a google classroom for each module which will include a short manual per topic\, recordings of classes and Yoga nidras applicable to each theme. \nThere will also be a short quiz to complete\, recommended reading and class themes to prepare for review. \nLessons take place online on Tuesday evenings and alternate Saturday mornings. Learn how this integrated three part system can help to optimise the body’s internal systems. \nNow that you understand the basic principles of Yin & Yang you will be able to recognise the importance of this Yang organ in your teaching themes. \nThe module includes a prerecorded Yin class with the theme of the San Jiao\, access to a Google classroom with additional links and references\, plus a Yoga nidra script. \nWorkshop includes theoretical and practical components.  \nCost : R 550 per module\nVenue : Online ONLY\nDate : Tues 3rd March\nTime : 5:30pm – 8pm \n#5 The Shen of the five elements as class themes  \n \nShen introduces the emotional and psychological aspects of TCM. Where our different spiritual dimensions align or get stuck. A beautiful understanding of the mind body connection woven into each of the five elements. \nThese themes can be applied in a similar manner to the way we use the Chakra system in Yoga. \nThe module includes a prerecorded Yin class with the theme of the 5 Shen\, access to a Google classroom with additional links and references\, plus a Yoga nidra script. \nWorkshop includes theoretical and practical components.  \nCost : R 550 per module\nVenue : Online via Zoom or in studio (Parkwood\, Johannesburg)\nDate : Sat 7th March\nTime : 1030am – 1pm \n#6 Acupressure & Adjustments during Yin Yoga \nAcupressure or light tapping can help to calm the mind and reduce stress. \nFinally the practical application of the channel locations and pressure points that are easily located on the hands and feet.
