Yin Yoga 100 Hour TTC

The next Yin Yoga 100 hour TTC with Shakti Yoga starts on the 28th September and runs until the 30th November.

I will be lecturing fundamental principals of Yin and Yang and basic anatomy applicable to a Yin Yoga class structure.

Yin yoga is a slow-paced style of Yoga. Asanas are held for anything from 2min – 15min for more advanced practitioners. The practice of Yin Yoga is becoming increasingly popular, both for students and teachers.

This style is the perfect compliment to more dynamic styles of Yoga such as Ashtanga or Vinyasa. Equally beneficial if you practice other modalities such as a Martial arts, endurance or strength training programs.

The principles of Yin Yoga follow those applied to Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM).

I will be lecturing on this topic during this course • Discussing the principles of Yin and Yang  • Comparisons and similarities between Ayurvedic and Traditional Chinese MedicineBriefly looking at the physical benefits of Yin Yoga for the joints, connective tissues and the nervous system. • I will also cover the 12 main meridian lines, the theory of the five elements according to TCM and learn where some of the major pressure points are on the body.

I will also lead a practical Yin Yoga class that incorporates the use of these pressure points during the class.

Ensuring that by the end of the course you have an overview of these complex principals in application to teaching methodologies appropriate to a Yin Yoga class.
