Chakra Immersion Course Johannesburg

Fully accredited Chakra Immersion Course 50 hour level training with Yoga Alliance International
Co-hosted by Taryn Elise Herselman (Ma Akash) of Shakti Yoga and Theresa Moodie (500 level YAI certified teacher)

Are you interested in what happens to the energetic systems of the chakras during the practice of Yoga?
Do you want learn how to incorporate chakra work into your group and private classes?
Do you want to add an additional layer to your existing teaching modalities?

In this Hatha-based training we will work with a holistic approach to understanding how the chakras develop our mind, body and spirit.

The Sanskrit word Chakra literally translates to wheel or disk. In yoga, meditation, and Ayurveda, this term refers to wheels of energy throughout the body. Starting at the base of the spine and moving upwards towards the crown of the head. Read more on this blog post.

This 50 hour Chakra immersion course will focus on deeper aspects of Yoga. Exploring the powerful physical, energetic and mental shifts that can be facilitated when working with the relevant Chakras.

This course is ideal for Yoga teachers, Therapists or dedicated yoga practitioners looking to deepen their practice and is open to all levels of experience in the field of yoga.

Time commitment : 9 weeks

Dates – 11 August through 29 September 2020
Lecture times – Tuesdays 10:30am -1:30pm
Venue – Theresa Moodie Private Studio @ 29 1st ave East, Parktown North

Option 1: Pay in full and get a discount – R 5200 R4500
Option 2: Pay in two instalments – 50% Deposit R2600 payable before 30 June 2020 – followed by final instalment of R2600 payable before 30 July 2020 – R 5200 (50% deposit required). For full upfront payment the fee is discounted to R 4500

Course outline:

Lectures will cover both theoretical and practical teaching components.

The 9 Week Chakra Immersion Course will cover specific practices related to each individual Chakra

• Pranayama

• Shatkarmas (cleansing techniques)
• Mantras
• Meditation
• Yoga Nidra
• Self-massage with pressure point activation
• Dietary and lifestyle recommendations for each Chakra

11 August – Lecture 1 – Introduction to energy system of Chakras & Gunas

18 August – Lecture 2 – Muladhara/Root Chakra

25 August – Lecture 3 – Svadishtana/sacral Chakra

1 September – Lecture 4 – Manipura/ Solar plexus Chakra

8 September – Lecture 5 – Anahata/Heart Chakra

15 September – Lecture 6 – Vishuddha/Throat Chakra

22 September – Lecture 7 – Ajna/brow Chakra

29 September – Lecture 8 – Sahasrara/Crown Chakra and closing ceremony
